BioMERA X-ray microCT facility is a walk-in hutch system, unique in the region and capable of imaging samples of large size (cm) to small size (mm) of various geometries and shape.
This X-ray microCT instrument is open to external users from June 2023.
The custom designed X-ray microCT instrument consists of a sealed micro-focus X-ray tube with a focal spot of the size 5 micron and maximum voltage 190kV. The X-ray source produces a cone beam. The detector is flat panel type of field of view 2512 mm x 3008 mm and the voxel size upto 5 micron. The precision sample stage can be used for sample mounting with max. weight 20 kg. The distance between the source and sample manipulator, sample manipulator and detector can be varied in the set-up that is mounted on a vibration free granite table. MicroCT data acquisition on a wide range of material samples ranging for example from life sciences, pharmaceutical industry, cultural heritage, archaeology, food industry, geology, engineering materials, dental restorations and implants, ceramic industry, cement industry, civil engineering, inspection of 3D printed and additively manufactured parts and many other domains (Please contact us for tailored discussion)
